coronavirus
Based on your feedback in class over the last week, it seems that we are receiving coronavirus and COVID-19 news from many sources without getting much guidance from local leaders. To help our extended learning family, I will post some links and resources for you to consider at school, work, and home. As I put these materials together, I'd like to know what is important to you. Please comment to this post with any specific concerns or questions you have. I know that some of you have already found some informational resources; please feel free to share those too. I will read all of your feedback tomorrow (Friday) morning before I post. Mahalo.

DeleteDo healthy people get sick as well? I know that most of the case are with older people or people that already have been compromised.

ReplyDeleteSo many trips have been canceled at school to contain the spread of the corona virus, for example, a field trip to UC Davis and etc was canceled, which were orders from the superintendent. Now, I am questioning what actions is the superintendent taking for those who traveled and are just coming back in town/schools ex, teachers and other students?
ReplyDeleteHow many schools in America have already closed down due to the virus?
ReplyDeleteI keep seeing news that a lot of universities are closing down but what I'm curious about I guess is why public schools aren't closing down? Is it because there aren't any cases near us?
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how possible it is for people to catch this virus where we are? Can people survive this virus?
ReplyDeleteSomething I am more curious about is if the corona virus is more likely to kill you if you have any cholesterol, diabetes, or asthma?
ReplyDeleteHow did the coronavirus even start? Like I've heard rumors and I think I know how it started but what actually happened? If we know what caused it, why can't we work backwards to find a medicine?
ReplyDeleteWhy does the news broadcast only show coronavirus death rate then the recovered rates?
ReplyDeleteMy history teacher also told us that its not a matter of if we will get the coronavirus but when we will get it. Although that does sound kind of scary, many news reports say that younger people aren't as likely to die from it because they are healthier and have a better immune system then older people who might have other problems like heart or lung problems.
ReplyDeleteI would also like to know what the exact symptoms are? People are saying that its like the "flu but on steroids" but we don't see symptoms till like 2 weeks later. How can we determine the difference between the coronavirus and just a cold or the regular flu?
ReplyDeleteThey say you get a mild cough and cold with a runny nose but isn’t that the basic recipe for any virus like the flu. I wanted to know if there’s any other signs that could actually tell us if we have the virus.
ReplyDeleteThis just in:
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, there are more cases of people who have recovered compared to those who have died due to the virus, and yet, I do understand that we have no cure as to why there is panic. Lately, the normal human body temperature is 96 or 97, but to be safe, although it is 98, it is already high enough to report because it may only increase at that point. Also, the government made the rule of not being allowed to go to the hospital if you’re sick, but the doctor has to go to you.
Lastly, I want to tell everyone who is reading this that if you wear a mask, you are most likely to receive any kind of illnesses because “Folks who don’t know how to wear them properly tend to touch their faces a lot and actually can increase the spread of coronavirus.” ( Dr. Jerome Adams )
Therefore, the best thing we can do is to always wash your hands, and yes, the hand sanitizers are good, but if you touch mud and put some hand sanitizer, are your hands clean right away? No. Exactly. Always wash your hands and when you sneeze, Dab. - Jonessallin Dineros
I know that most places are taking precautions. Like my sister just showed me that many universities in California are cancelled, schools in Ontario are cancelled, and Harvard also cancelled its classes. So how come schools/classes in our county haven't been cancelled?
ReplyDeleteHow long till we find a cure/vaccine for the coronavirus?
ReplyDeleteSo they can cancel field trips, sports, etc. But yet they can't cancel schools? Do you think it's because all they want is to make make money? It shows that the only thing that matters to them is having their pockets full, but don't seem to care about the student's health.
ReplyDeleteAbout how many people will be affected here in just California? And, if people that have the corona virus get better, what are the long lasting affects?
